Installers We Recommend

A floor is only as good as the person who lays it. Marchand works with a small number of installers around New Zealand whom we know by their work, and when you buy a Marchand floor we will put you in touch with one we trust in your region and bring the flooring and installation quote together, so you have one number and one conversation rather than two.

How it works

Tell us where the project is, roughly how many square metres, what the subfloor is (concrete slab, timber, existing floor), and when you expect to lay. We will send a take-off and quote for the flooring, and introduce an installer we recommend for your area who quotes the installation against the same plan. If you already have an installer, we will send them the installation guide and answer their questions directly.

Why we do not publish the list

Because the right installer depends on the job. A heritage villa on piles in Dunedin and a new slab in Tauranga with underfloor heating need different hands, and the people we recommend are busy enough that we would rather match them to the work than send every enquiry to the same name. It also lets us stand behind the recommendation: we know who laid the floor, and the warranty is simpler for everyone.

What our installers get from us

The installation guide and technical documents, a clear answer on substrate moisture, primer and adhesive for the site, the underfloor heating requirements where they apply, and someone at the end of the phone during the job. Where conditions on site are in doubt we will say so before the floor goes down.

Where we can help

We have recommended installers across NZ (and also Pacific Islands), including Auckland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, Nelson and Tasman, Canterbury, Otago and Southland.

Frequently asked questions

Does Marchand recommend installers?

Yes. We introduce an installer we trust in your region and bring the flooring and installation quote together.

Can I use my own installer?

Yes. We will send them the installation guide and support them through the job. The warranty requires installation by a qualified installer following the guide.

Does Marchand install floors itself?

No. We supply the flooring and coordinate with installers we recommend; the installation contract is with the installer.

How do I get a quote?

Send your plans or an approximate area, the subfloor type, the region and your timing through our contact page. We reply with a take-off and flooring quote and an installer introduction.

How much does installation cost?

Across the New Zealand market, professional installation of engineered oak adds roughly $100 per square metre excluding GST, varying with the substrate, the region and the amount of preparation needed. Your installer quotes against the actual plan.
