Inside: oak flooring and wall board samples from the Smoke and Ash palette, and beside them the carpet, cladding, stone, cabinetry and fabric tones our interior designers would set with it. Not a standard kit. Chosen for your house after a short call about the rooms, the light and the budget, and collated by hand in the studio.

Grey oak flooring in New Zealand
Lune, La Forêt and Vuitton. A deep smoked grey, a mid-tone with a grey undertone, and a natural base with a soft grey cast that shifts warmer through the day and cooler in the evening.
Grey-toned oak is the usual answer where the palette is already cool: polished concrete, blackened steel, venetian plaster and stone. Lune is the one colour in the range that is smoked before it is coloured; La Forêt and Vuitton take their grey from the finish over a natural board, which is what keeps them from reading flat.
